Call for Workshops

Tweak week is a week long workshop taking place in Limerick between the 13th and 17th of September.
We are currently looking for submissions for projects* to be developed in this week long workshop. The selected projects will be developed collaboratively and then exhibited during the festival from the 20th to the 24th of September 2010.
Deadline for proposals: July 31st 2010

Worskhop tutors: Benjamin Gaulon, Antonin Fourneau, Julien Gachadoat, and Lawrence Rozema.
*(If your project is selected there is a fee for the workshop of €200)

Selected projects will be developed under the supervision of tutors with an extensive group of collaborators.This call is addressed to artists, scientists, designers, students, anthropologists, architects, educators, activists, hackers, and any other person interested in the subject.

Proposals can be submitted individually or collectively. Each participant or team can submit as many projects as they like. Selected projects should be open to the participation of other collaborators interested in contributing to the development of the piece during the workshop.

There are two ways of participating in the workshop:
1 - as project author
2 - as a collaborator in one of the selected projects

About the workshop

The objective of the workshop is to explore the relationship between technology and immersive experience, and to investigate the potential of new forms of audience participation.
The workshop aims to be a platform for research and collaborative learning. The projects will be developed by multidisciplinary workgroups consisting of the project lead, collaborators under the technical advice of the workshop tutors. Tweak will provide the necessary to document the projects.
Each evening there will be different events taking place such as talks, concerts, cinema and will conclude with a disassembly party for the workshop attendants.
Participants will be encouraged to document the projects during and after the workshop and to allow access and distribute the results and source codes under free licenses.

Submission Guidelines

When submitting a project proposal please specify the following:
- Technical requirements (software/hardware/equipment)
- Material requirements (any additional materials required to exhibit your project)
- Artistic focus of the proposal

Projects developed at Tweak week will be exhibited publicly in Limerick from September 20 - 24. In addition, the projects and their documentation will be published on the Tweak website.
Participants are required to attend the workshop between September 13 - 17 2010 and projects should be completed in this time. Any unexpected cost for materials or equipment rental will be at the project author’s expense. The projects developed at Tweak will belong to the author or authors, but when the projects are featured in festivals or exhibitions and its images are reproduced in catalogues or web pages, their relationship to Tweak and the names of the people that have collaborated in the development of the project should be mentioned.
